Check your speed

Did you know?

Most Australians are using their home internet very differently nowadays. With video conferencing, online study and streaming often going on at the same time across multiple devices. Many of these require high upload and download speeds so it might be worth checking whether the speed plan you chose when you first switched to the nbn® network is still the best one for you.

  • Review the wholesale speed tiers that nbn has to offer.
  • Not all speed tiers are available everywhere. The availability of speed tiers depends on the type of technology you are connected to and the speed tiers your preferred internet provider offers.
  • It’s important to learn about the actual speeds you can expect to experience on your nbn powered plan, particularly during peak usage times. To discover more about the specific speed tiers available in your location, speak to your preferred internet provider or visit their website for further information.

Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn network, depends on the nbn access network technology and configuration over which services are delivered to your premises, whether you are using the internet during the busy period, and some factors outside nbn’s control (like your equipment quality, software, broadband plan, signal reception and how your service provider designs its network). Speeds may also be impacted by the number of concurrent users on the nbn Fixed Wireless network, including during busy periods. Satellite customers may also experience latency.
